Authentication / Legalization Services

 

Legal Documents signed in Canada, but need to be used in another country must be "authenticated" or "legalized" before they can be recognized as valid in the foreign country.

 

Such documents range of notarized services:

  • Power of Attorney

  • Statutory Declaration

  • Declaration of Identity

  • Declaration of Birth

  • Declaration of Relationship

  • Afffidavit of Marital Status (Non-spouse)

  • Birth Certificate

  • Death Certificate

  • Marriage Certificate

  • Incorporation documents

  • Deed of Gift

  • No Criminal Record (RCMP, Local Police Certificate)

Step 1.

 

  • Document should first be notarized by a Notary Public in Canada

Step 2.

 

  • The document should then be legalized by:

 

- Department of Foreign Affairs of Canada

 

OR

 

- Ontario Ministry of Government & Consumer Services

Notary Public

Ontario

Step 3.

 

  • Finally, the document has to be authenticated by the Embassy / Consulate General of the concern foreign country
